58% of the 1,500 women polled said they personally felt embarrassed, and 42% felt shame while on their periods.

About 1 in 4 students in the U.S. struggle to afford period products, leading many to use unsafe materials and stay home from school.

23% of Black respondents and 24% of Latino respondents reported difficulty affording period products, compared with 8% of white respondents, showing a clear racial and economic gap in access.

UNICEF estimates that only 31% of schools worldwide have bins for menstrual waste in girls’ toilets, and in sub-Saharan Africa that drops to about 11%.
